The MidWestLatinoFest Committee met for the second time on Feb. 16, 2012 to discuss the annual Festival Latino, slated for June 16, 2012, at Promenade Park in downtown Toledo.
MINUTES: The meeting was called to order at 6:14 PM by Lucy Perales.
In attendance: Linda Parra, Linda Alvarado, Michael Rivera, Victoria Mares, José J. Cardenas, Linda de la Pena, María Molina, Nadi García, Chevo Torres, Simon Rodríguez, Rico de La Prensa, George Placencio, Lucy Perales, Kylie Courter, Nanette Nieto, Gerald Rosales, and Adrianne Chasteen.

Agenda I: Vote on Director, Co-Director, and Secretary Treasurer
Motion on the floor from Linda Alvarado for Lucy Perales for Director and George Placencio, Co-Director; Linda Parra 2nd motion and vote is unanimous: Lucy Perales will be Director of MidWest LatinoFest and George Placencio, Co-Director for MidWest LatinoFest for one (1) year term 2012, commencing forthwith.
Motion on the floor from Rico for Nanette Nieto to be Treasurer/Secretary and Simon Rodríguez second’s motion majority voted “yes;” Nanette Nieto will be Secretary Treasurer for MidWest LatinoFest 2012 for one (1) year term, commencing forthwith.
Agenda II: Adoption of Midwest Tejano Music Association, Inc. and 501 (c) (3) Status
Rico discussed the option of the Midwest Tejano Music Association, Inc. to adopt the MidWest LatinoFest. MTMA has been in operation since 1990 and has promoted 7 Latino festivals, numerous Tejano gigs, and 10 Toledo Mud Hen events. Motion on the Floor for the adoption of Midwest Tejano Music Association, Inc. to adopt the MidWest LatinoFest. Simon Rodriquez seconds motion with unanimous affirmative vote.
Agenda III: MidWest LatinoFest Logo Vote
Simon Rodríguez prepared three logo’s for MidWest LatinoFest and all in attendance vote for the MW LatinoFest Blue Logo, as it appears on page 1 of La Prensa.
Agenda IV: Discussion on forming planning committee’s for MW Latinofest 2012
Logistics: George Placencio and Mike Rivera;
Entertainment Committee: Gerald Rosales, Freddie Gutiérrez, José Cardenas, Rico, Tony Rios, and Mike Rivera;
Vendor Committee: María Molina, Adrianne Chasteen, Linda Alvarado, and Nadi Garcia;
Volunteer Committee: María Molina, Victoria Mares, and Adrianne Chasteen;
Family Area Committee: Olga Jaimez, Nanette Nieto, and Rosalinda Contreras;
Sponsorship Committee: María Molina, Adrianne Chasteen, Mike Rivera, and Nanette Nieto;
