Lucas County Suicide Prevention Coalition luncheon
By Claudia Annoni, La Prensa

The Lucas County Suicide Prevention Coalition (LCSPC) luncheon took place last Thursday, January 12th, 2012, hosted at the United Way building.

The LCSPC board shared its calendar for 2012. This included several programs to educate professionals, activities to bring awareness to the community, and mostly to continue working on their efforts of “be a friend…the campaign.”

On March 2, 2012 at the Toledo Hospital Auditorium, the Coalition is hosting a “Best Practice Workshop for the Intervention and Prevention of Suicide.” This is a free 6 hour workshop with a renowned speaker. CEU’s available for counselors, nurses, and social workers.  This workshop is also made possible by the generosity of Toledo Hospital.

The coalition is organizing the Second Annual Awareness Walk in May. This is a great event to support the mission of the coalition, to celebrate the survivors and to embrace friends and family members who have lost a love one.

If you are interested in participating or would like to take an active part in any of these events, contact the coalition at http://www.lucas-suicide-prevention.org or email  [email protected]
