33^rd Annual LCCC Holiday Choral Concert on Dec. 3

Lorain County Community College’s Civic Chorale, Collegiate Chorale, Renaissance Singers and Civic Orchestra will present the 33^rd Annual Holiday Choral Concert at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011 in the Stocker Arts Center.  More than 150 performers representing LCCC students and community musicians from 16 different communities will perform under the direction of conductor and Director of Choral Music Performance, Nancy L. Davis.
 

The concert will begin with a performance of Saint-Saens’s “Christmas Oratorio” performed by the Civic Chorale and Civic Orchestra.  The concert will also feature familiar holiday favorites and selections from Handel’s “MESSIAH,” including the ever-popular “Hallelujah” chorus performed by the Collegiate Chorale, Civic Chorale and the Civic Orchestra.

A special feature of the concert will be the Renaissance Singers, who will appear in period costumes and perform 16^th and 17^th century a cappella madrigals, motets, and several newly composed choral works.  Solid Brass, an all-brass ensemble, will delight the audience during the intermission with familiar holiday music in the Stocker Arts Center lobby.
