Film FOCUS, An Independent Film Festival September 19-October 24
The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is hosting its annual Film FOCUS, an independent film festival in the McMaster Center at Main Library, 325 Michigan St.
Experience these powerful, first-run feature films by independent filmmakers at 6:15 p.m. on Mondays, from September 19 through October 24.
September 19, 2011 Surrogate Valentine 2011 USA, EXCLUSIVE SCREENING - In this must-see comedy, Goh is a struggling, but talented, indie musician who is given the task of teaching a Hollywood actor how to play a musician for an upcoming movie role.
September 26 These Amazing Shadows 2011 USA, EXCLUSIVE SCREENING - What do the films Casablanca, Blazing Saddles and West Side Story have in common? Besides being popular, they have also been deemed "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant" by the Library of Congress and listed on The National Film Registry. This documentary tells the history and importance of this roll call of American cinema treasures that reflects the diversity of film, and indeed the American experience itself.
