Ohio Latino Affairs Commission announces the 2011 Latino Awards

The Ohio Latino Affairs Commission (OCHLA) will present its annual Governor’s Distinguished Hispanic Awards, a yearly event to recognize and honor those individuals and organizations who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in the professional or community service endeavors, and who serve as role models for the growing Latino community in Ohio. Editor’s Note: La Prensa congratulates the recipients but one wonders why no distinguished Toledoans were selected despite Toledo having a significant and active Latino population—in fact, Toledo has the third largest Latino population in Ohio.
