Ohio Latino Affairs Commission announces the 2011 Latino Awards
The Ohio Latino Affairs Commission (OCHLA) will present its annual Governor’s Distinguished Hispanic Awards, a yearly event to recognize and honor those individuals and organizations who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in the professional or community service endeavors, and who serve as role models for the growing Latino community in Ohio. The awards gala will take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Columbus on October 07, 2011.
The Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan Awards recognize individuals who have taken the challenge with determination and creativity, to work tenaciously to ensure that their communities become a better place not only for Hispanics, but for everyone.
The “Nuestra Familia” Awards are presented to non-Latino individuals or organizations that have gone the extra mile to make certain inclusion, participation and engagement of Latinos is taking place in Ohio.
Since 2010, the commission also presents the Latino Military Service of Distinction Awards to active duty and veterans who continue to serve our country and communities through their exemplary lives, community engagement and service.
