LCCC NEWS 

Rosa Rivera-Hainaj, Ph.D., has been named the Dean of Science and Mathematics at Lorain County Community College and Lou Kompare has been named its Director of Information Systems and Services.

Rivera-Hainaj previously served as an associate professor of Chemistry and Interim Chair of the Biology and Chemistry department at Purdue University North Central in Westville, Ind. She obtained her doctorate in Biochemistry at Case Western Reserve University. She previously taught at John Carroll University, Baldwin Wallace College, Notre Dame College of Ohio, and James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA

Rivera-Hainaj said she is pleased to be working at LCCC.

“I enjoy the sense of community and the willingness of the people to work for the better good of Lorain County Community College and the region it serves,” she said.

Rivera-Hainaj is married to Neritan Hainaj. The couple has three sons: George, Louis, and Anthony.
 

Lou Kompare most recently served as the Director for Data Management Modernization for the US Department of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C. He has also worked with the State of Tennessee Finance and Administration Department, Gaylord Entertainment, The Walt Disney Co., and has a broad range of experience collaborating with world-class institutions, such as Carnegie Mellon University, MIT Media Lab and US DOE National Laboratories and Technology Centers. 

Kompare said he is excited to work in the positive and innovative environment at LCCC. He and his wife, Emily, are also pleased to be coming home to Lorain County. The couple grew up in Lorain and they are alumni of Lorain High School.
