Toledo Teen Summit, July 23
There will soon be a more youthful energy in the Old West End, thanks in large part to the Toledo Synergy Teen Summit. The community outreach event is the brainchild of Thosefellas LLC and is being sponsored by Fifth Third Bank and the Collingwood Arts Center on July 23, 2011, from 8am-3pm. The event will feature a talk by Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur.
The Toledo Synergy Teen Summit is a community event dedicated to providing exciting practical tools for tomorrow’s leaders to utilize today. The event is bent on encouraging youth to take responsibility their choice, for their future, and in turn the future of Toledo.
Adults are needed from 8-11am.
Adults will initiate contact with youth, by greeting them with a hand shake. Use encouraging words--let the youth know how important a hand shake is. Don't use any negative words. Take the time to introduce yourself, and ask open ended questions: what do you want to do, what school do you go to, do you plan on going to college, do you dress like what you are trying to be?
