LCCC to Host Free Performances of Cleveland Shakespeare Festival
Lorain County Community College will host two free performances of the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival.
The acting troupe will perform “Othello” at 7 p.m., Saturday, July 23 and “Love's Labour's Lost” at 7 p.m., Sunday, July 24 at LCCC’s Stocker Art’s Center’s outdoor amphitheatre. Both performances are free.
Audience members are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating. In the event of inclimate weather, the performances will take place inside Stocker Arts Center.
“Othello” is Shakespeare’s classic tragedy of ambition, betrayal, jealousy, and love. Cleveland Shakespeare Festival’s production of the show is being directed by Aaron D. Elersich.
“Love’s Labour’s Lost” is directed by Celeste Cosentino, Artistic Director of Ensemble Theater of Cleveland. This will not be the play you’re expecting to see. A very unique re-telling of the Bard's classic romantic comedy, this radically abridged and gender reversed adaptation is not for the purist - but is not to be missed. Grab your blanket or lawn chair and come prepared to laugh!
