The 10th annual Great Maumee River Dragon Boat Festival

The Dragon Boat Festival is an opportunity to create teams of 21 to 25 paddlers (at least 8 females per boat) and race 500 meters down the Maumee River, competing for trophies, awards and prizes. Groups expected include corporate/business, church, civic, school and neighborhood groups. A variety of food will be provided. Proceeds support the mission of Partners In Education of Toledo. Puerto Rican Home Festival and Parade

With new leadership since January comes a new name for this year's festival and parade. It is now called the Puerto Rican Home Festival and Parade.
The two-day festival will feature an art sale and Jibaro music on Friday, and a parade Saturday, said Julie Ortiz, secretary. The parade starts at noon and will extend from Oakwood Park, Clinton Avenue, Pearl Avenue and finish at the Home on 28th street.
The club is also planning to create a year-round organization for children to dance and sing, Ortiz said.
