UT Women’s Basketball wins it all!

On April 2, 2011, Toledo was much brighter than the University of Southern California due to an amazing victory by the University of Toledo’s women’s basketball team. UT took on USC for the WNIT Championship in front of a sold out crowd of 7, 301. It was the second sold-out crowd in less than four days, with tickets being gone in the first 6 hours of announcing.

Toledo finished an 18 home-game winning streak 76-68 over the USC Trojans. Naama Shafir, 1^st team All-Conference point guard, played a major role in UT’s win, with a record-high of 40 points. With a performance like that, she also clinched the All-Tournament Most Valuable Player.

This is The University of Toledo’s 1^st post season tournament title in school history.
