Entre Amigos” fundraiser yields about $11,000

On March 16th, 2011, the Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center organized “Entre Amigos,” a fund rising event for the organization.

Milva Valenzuela Wagner, Development/Grants Coordinator, stated that about $11,000 was the amount collected including the $2,500 match of Modern Woodmen.

In a message send by Ms. Wagner, the Center, the staff and its representatives would like to thank the Famous Mozos: Councilman Mike Craig, Deborah Ortiz-Flores - Executive Director - Lucas County Dpt.of Job & Family Services, Linda Ewing - Senior Vice President - Fifth Third Bank, Damaris Sabo - Producer - Martin & Martin, Isabel Escobar - Acting Director - University of Toledo Catharine S. Eberly Center for Women, Michael Szuberla, Director  Toledo GROWS, Gary Johnson - President - American Flooring Installers, Inc., and Judge Keila Cosme.

SQACC Board Members who were also Mozos Famosos included: Lourdes Santiago - City of Toledo, Martha Delgado - The University of Toledo, Melanie Grohowski - South Toledo YMCA at the Morse Center, Al González - Bowling Green State University, Sharon Haeflinger - The Andersons, and Guest Waiters:  Nitja Morrow (Metro YMCA) and Mónica González.

Special Thanks to committee members:  Arturo Quintero (Chair), Melanie Grohowski and Sharon Haeflinger, guest artist Veronica Engler who exhibited and sold her art pieces,  all the volunteers who helped throughout the evening,  Good Morning Holland Diner - Owner - Mendez family Modern Woodmen and John Escobar for making the match possible and La Prensa.

Wagner stated that “this event keeps growing every year and the special appreciation goes to the community for their continue support.”

 

El evento “Entre Amigos” fue todo un éxito

El pasado 16 de Marzo la Organización Sofía Quintero Centro Cultural y de Arte llevó a cabo “Entre Amigos”, un evento que tiene como fin recaudar fondos para los programas que ofrece a la comunidad.

La Sra. Milva Valenzuela Wagner, coordinadora de fondos y desarrollo expresó que el monto recaudado fue alrededor de los $11,000 en el cual se incluyen $2,500 del desafío con Modern Woodmen.

En un mensaje enviado por la Sra. Wagner, el Centro cultural y sus representantes desean agradecer a  los Mozos Famosos que en forma voluntaria sirvieron durante el evento.
