Barrage offers a high-energy performance of strings, rhythm sections and voice combined with carefully choreographed stage movement. Included in the musical mix are jazz, fiddle, swing, bluegrass, and traditional music from cultures around the world.
According to their website http://www.barrage.org/ , “Barrage has entertained millions of people around the globe. Their performances offer up a diverse fusion of cultures, musical styles and incredible performance vitality. …. The young hip cast delivers the show with amazing energy and musical virtuosity that will take your breath away.”
Students of both schools will benefit tremendously by being a part of this phenomenal group. “This is a great and rare opportunity to have our students play next to professional musicians,” said Jay Welenc, TSA’s Studio Orchestra Director. “The professionals work with the students during sectionals and model the decorum expected during rehearsals and performances.” This has also become a unique opportunity for the teachers of the two schools to collaborate. Diana Anderson, Toledo Symphony violinist and TSA string orchestra instructor, was invited to join the Barrage performance by Maumee’s Orchestra Director, Molly Stuckey, also of the TSO.
