The Parkwood Gallery is located in the Professional Building at 1838 Parkwood Ave. The Awards Assembly for the Salon show will be held at 9 p.m. following the awards assembly at the museum slated for 7:30 p.m.
Serving the community as this year’s Salon Show Judges will be Arts Advocate Mary T. Wolfe of Perrysburg, and Artist Emanuel Enríquez of Bowling Green.
Enríquez has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting, and a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Bowling Green State University. Numerous selections of his sculptures and paintings are featured in public, corporate and private collections. Just recently he finished a monumental sculpture called “Flamenco Dancers” made from Portuguese Pink Marble currently on display at Schedel Gardens in Elmore.
One of the favorite public sculptures Enríquez has done for the area is called “The Knothole Gang,” and is located on the sidewalk along St. Clair St., surrounding Fifth Third Ball Park. This delightful bronze features four life-sized children looking through the knotholes of a fence to enjoy a baseball game.
Enríquez is a veteran of the Army, and a retiree from Chrysler Corporation. In his retirement, he has continued to follow his dreams and has been successful in helping and encouraging others to do so.
Mary T. Wolfe has been an independent art consultant, international lecturer, artist, and interior designer. She holds a Bachelor of Arts, Degree in Art History from Wellesley College, a Masters of Arts in History of Art and Painting from Bowling Green State University, and she was awarded a Doctorate of Arts degree in 2006.
Wolfe was appointed Director of Exhibitions at the McFall Center Gallery at Bowling Green State University from 1977-1982, and served three five year terms as a member of the Ohio Arts Council, and has added leadership and advocacy for the arts in many capacities in our community and across the nation.
Following the opening reception the exhibit will run daily Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30pm through August 20. There will be additional evening hours to enjoy the exhibition on Friday evening August the 6th from 6:00-10:00 pm.
