Meet Me at TMA: An Art Museum experience for visitors with early stage memory loss

Meet Me at TMA is a monthly program held on the 1st Saturday of every month, from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm.  This program is hosted by the Toledo Museum of Art (TMA), in cooperation with the Alzheimer’s Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter and features interactive tours led by specially trained Museum docents who engage participants in lively dialogue, as art can be a rich and satisfying experience while providing stimulation to people with Alzheimer’s disease. 

The Meet Me at TMA program features selected works from the Museum collection. Presentations are tailored to individuals who are experiencing forgetfulness, mild confusion or difficulty finding the right words, along with their family members and caregivers.  Each month different works are chosen as a focal point of the visit. 

Upcoming program dates are: Saturday, July 10, 2010 – Outside Sculpture Garden; August  7, 2010 - Psychedelic 60s: Posters from the Rock Era; & September 11, 2010 - Behind the Scenes Tour.

Parking, admission to the Museum and to this special program is free. TMA is located at 2445 Monroe Street at Scottwood Ave., Toledo.
