Claudia Annoni named Interim Executive Director of Adelante, Inc.

June 15, 2010, Toledo: Claudia Annoni, currently the Director of Programs and Services of Adelante, Inc., has been named the Interim Executive Director of Adelante, effective immediately.  She will carry out both roles until a permanent Executive Director is named later this year.

Annoni’s selection comes after thorough discussions and strategic planning on behalf of the Board of Directors and Adelante’s Executive Director, Sonia Troche, who resigned in April effective June 30, 2010, to sojourn to Texas.

“It is imperative that we identify the ideal transition option for Adelante during this exciting time of growth and opportunities,” said Dan Briones, Adelante Board Chair.  “We are pleased to have such qualified, passionate and enthusiastic interim executive director in Claudia Annoni to help us move forward seamlessly.”

Annoni joined Adelante in 2005, where her expertise and passion for Domestic Violence and Mental Health Supportive Services helped in the program development, outreach efforts and creating and maintaining relationships with community partners.  Annoni left Adelante for a brief period in 2007 and rejoined Adelante in 2008 as the Nosotras and Leamos Juntos Program Coordinator; in 2009, she was promoted to the Director of Programs and Services.

“In her short time as Director of Programs and Services, Annoni has done an excellent job in helping launch new initiatives, develop new community partners, and assist in Adelante’s efforts to raise awareness, build capacity and additional funds to support the mission of Adelante, said Sonia Troche. 

“Since the nature of her work as Interim Executive Director is to ensure the mission of Adelante is accomplished through the delivery of quality, comprehensive, and culturally competent programs and services, her current responsibilities and past experiences, Annoni is the ideal candidate to help the organization through this transition until a permanent solution is identified.”

Annoni is expected to serve as Interim Executive Director until a permanent Executive Director is hired.  The selection process is currently underway and the Board will begin the first round of interviews next week.

Adelante strives to improve the quality of life for Latinos and Toledo residents by: providing early childhood, secondary and adult educational programs; facilitating access to prevention, health and social services for all ages; promoting and providing economic empowerment and wealth building programs; providing youth development services and program; and promoting and providing Latino cultural enrichment events.
