Alexia Romero will attend Stanford Law School
Alexia Marie Romero, of Lorain, was an Obama delegate in 2008; since then, she has graduated Summa Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in Spanish, from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia on May 10, 2010.
Alexia Romero will attend Stanford Law School located in Palo Alto, California where she will pursue her Juris Doctorate Degree. Romero is an elected member of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s oldest and most widely recognized academic honor society; Phi Eta Sigma, the national honor society for outstanding first-year students; Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society; and the Continuing Excellence Recognition Award, which recognizes graduating seniors who have maintained consistently high academic performance over the entire course of their academic careers at Emory and celebrates their commitment to scholarly achievement.

She wrote an honors thesis entitled: “The Effect of Transparency on the Inter-American Court of Human Rights’ Compliance Rates,” for which she was awarded Highest Honors. Romero spent a semester in Costa Rica in 2009, and returned there to conduct research for her thesis in early 2010.
Romero graduated in 2006 from Elyria Catholic High School. She is the daughter of Joanette and Richard Romero of Lorain.
