Skating for Chile's Earthquake victims

ELYRIA: Many are planning to put on their skates this weekend for a good cause. The Roll Arena Family Roller Skating Center will be hosting a fundraising event Friday, March 12, 2010 for the Chile earthquake victims.
The death toll in Chile has now soared past 700 in the aftermath of the 8.8 earthquake that struck central Chile two weeks ago and shook its capital for a minute and a half, setting off a tsunami.
Elyrians and others from Lorain County say they want to help.
Karin Silva Smith, the creator of a Facebook page announcing the “Roll Arena Helps Chile” event was not available but wrote on the page “Fuerza Chile!,” or “Stay Strong Chile.”
Edna Harrison-Robertson wrote “Keeping all of Chile in our prayers,” on a picture of a man in Chile holding the Chilean flag amidst the rubble.
The Roll Arena fundraising event, located at 908 Cleveland Street, Elyria, will run from 7:30 until 11 p.m. Admission is $6 and all of those proceeds will go to help Chile.
Skate rentals is $2, Inline rentals is $3, Laser tag is $3 and the Rock Climbing will be $2.
