Arts Commission hosts Spring Fundraiser: “The Mix Twenty10 Preview,” March 20
The Arts Commission of Greater Toledo’s spring fundraiser, The Mix Twenty10, will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at the Secor Hotel, 425 Jefferson, Toledo, from 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM.
On Friday, Feb. 19, 6:00-8:00 p.m., the public is invited to a free preview event, at the Secor Gallery, located on the first floor of the Secor Hotel.
The original works of 50 artists will be featured in The Mix Twenty10, from a 1970’s perspective. Guests at the preview event will be able to make opening bids on artwork, which will be sold in a silent auction the night of The Mix Twenty10, March 20th.
The artists include: Calvin Babich; Amy Beeler; Carly Dahl; Luke Ellison; Rex Fogt, Jorge Gallardo, Penny Gentieu; Tina Gionis, Phil Hazard; Dan Hernández; Carol Imes-Luscombe; Ivan Kende; Michelle Kepford; Nate Masternak; Buzz Meyers; Stephen Mockensturm; Blair Moritz; Fraser Phibbs; Richard Reed; Karen Roderick Lingeman; Arturo Rodríguez; Jody Russ; Jack Schmidt; Kelly Sheehan; Sue Stewart; Jan Thomas; Ann Tubbs; and Jules Shine Webster.
At the preview, Jack Schatzley of Schatzley’s Diamond and Jewelry Design Studio will select a winning design from among submissions to a design competition by local jewelry designers. He will craft the selected design and it will be made available for auction at the March 20 event. He will also craft a second selection from among the submissions which will be chosen by the high bidder at the March 20 event.
Proceeds raised through The Mix Twenty10 support the Arts Commission’s more than 50 year tradition of developing and promoting the arts in the greater Toledo community through programs such as Young Artists at Work, the Parkwood Gallery, Artomatic 419, Meet and Greets and the Congressional Exhibition, all of which benefit our local artists.
