El Centro and Adelante partner with NCLR

El Centro de Servicios Sociales, Inc, is partnering with Adelante, The Latino Resource Center, of Toledo, and the Ohio Hispanic Coalition, of Columbus, and the National Council of La Raza to hold the Lideres, Learning to Lead, Lideres, Learning to Change Congreso. 

The event will be held at the University of Toledo’s Student Union Auditorium on Saturday, December 19^th, 2009.  The National Council of La Raza’s Lideres Initiative is a national program designed to increase opportunity for youth that will maximize their influence as leaders in the United States.

The conference will bring together youth from the Midwest to learn new skills, collaborate and develop as leaders, and discuss issues affecting the community.  Youth will discuss relevant issues like immigration, education, and work opportunities.  Lideres participants will learn how to identify issues affecting their community, and how to constructively and effectively address these needs.
