DHDC appoints VisionIT President Christine Rice to its Board of Directors

DETROIT, Nov. 20, 2009: VisionIT President Christine Rice looks forward to helping the Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation (DHDC) advance its mission as a new member of the 12 year-old non-profit’s board of directors.  Rice’s appointment was announced at the 12th Annual DHDC Dream Makers Gala.

“I believe in the mission of the Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation and think the work they do each day to improve the quality of life for Hispanics throughout our region is very important,” said Rice.  “Giving back to the community that has given me so much is a top priority for me. I consider it an honor and a privilege to be named to the board of directors for this outstanding organization.  I look forward to sharing the DHDC story with my colleagues locally, as well as nationally.

Rice is very familiar with the work of DHDC and expects to make an immediate impact as a new board member.  She and VisionIT were first introduced to this not-for-profit more than five years ago by the Ideal Group’s CEO, Frank Venegas.

Over the years, Rice’s contributions have included her involvement with Camp DHDC, the Partners Breakfast, and Partnership Events.  She has championed food and monetary donation drives for the organization.  Additionally, she leveraged VisionIT’s technical resources to improve the DHDC website.

Rice, the first woman president in VisionIT’s 13-year history, joined the firm 11 years ago after spending 14 years of her career in human resources for a Fortune 100 corporation.  She is actively involved in the day-to-day business operations of the firm.  Her hands-on approach has helped to create a winning culture within VisionIT that has led the company to global expansion and increased capacity.
