Rosales joins Lourdes’s Diversity and Multicultural Services and Veterans Offices

Lourdes College, based in Sylvania, Ohio, has announced that José Rosales and Michael Gill-Jacobson will serve as a Multicultural Assistant in the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Services and a Veterans Coordinator for the Office of Veterans Affairs, respectively.

As multicultural assistant, Rosales will provide support services and resources for students of diverse backgrounds, promote programs which increase understanding and appreciation of diversity, and coordinate orientation events and manage assessment and evaluation efforts.

José will assist student organizations with missions of inclusion, diversity and multicultural education, cultural programming and diversity education for students, faculty, and staff.

Prior to joining the Lourdes College community, he was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. As a Marine, he held both administration & personnel positions. José has also served as a mentor, tutor, and program developer for Adelante, Inc.

As Veterans Assistant, Gill-Jacobson will help create an environment that is welcoming and friendly through programs designed to increase awareness and appreciation of Lourdes student Veterans. Additionally, Michael will ensure that Veterans have access to all academic resources and student services and will oversee the recruitment and retention of student Veterans at the College.

This winter, Lourdes College will officially open its Veterans Center, housed in the lower level of St. Francis Hall. The Center will include the offices of both the Veterans Assistant and the Multicultural Assistant as well as computer stations and a student lounge for Veterans.
