Woodward High School has a soccer player that lives nearly 2,000 miles away from Toledo—Santiago Prado is an exchange student from Puebla, México. Since coming to Ohio nearly two months ago, this junior has become a successful player on the soccer team and has formed many new friendships with his new “Woodward Amigos.” 

According to head coach Richard J. Hug, “Halfway through the season, Santiago is the team’s leading scorer and has been a constant scoring threat with his swift ball handling and strong goal kicks.  He has been a welcome addition to the newly formed Woodward High School Soccer Team and has been an inspiration to his teammates.”
 

Not only has he become a friend to many other students, he has helped them learn how to play the game of fútbol. Santiago has enjoyed his visit here in Ohio so far. However, he does miss his family, especially his little sister, and plans on returning to México over the winter break to see them.
