The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library welcomes Steve Vander Ark, author of the new Lexicon to the Harry Potter novels. Vander Ark’s unauthorized guide to the popular novels by author J.K. Rowling is a 400-page companion work for Harry Potter fans who want to know more about this remarkable series.
Join Vander Ark from 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2009, at the Maumee Branch Library, 501 River Rd., in Maumee. The free program includes a lecture, Q&A, and a book-signing of Vander Ark’s work The Lexicon: An Unauthorized Guide to Harry Potter Fiction and Related Material (RDR Books). Critics state that Vander Ark’s Lexicon provides a deep appreciation and intriguing analysis of Rowling’s work.
Vander Ark’s companion Lexicon Web site, www.hp-lexicon.org has been named one of the 15 “Great Web sites for Kids” by The Association for Library Services for Children, a division of the American Library Association.
Vander Ark, a media specialist for many years in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area, started his Lexicon Web site in 2000 and today, it is one of the most respected and quoted sources of information on the Potter novels.
