PRCC makes presentations to deserving individuals and organizations

Lorain, Ohio, September 2009: The Puerto Rican Culture Committee (PRCC) recently presented money awards to several organizations working in the Latino community in the Lorain Metro area. The awards are derived from the funds that the PRCC raised with it activities and fundraisers.

Awards were present to:


Tim Carrion member organizing committee PRCC Boxing Match, George Mills assistant trainer Freddy's Gym, Freddy Barreiro owner/trainer Freddy's Gym, Antonio Barrios Chair PRCC, Dennis Flores chair organizing committee PRCC Boxing Match.


For the dedication and many sacrifices that Freddy’s Gym has made on behalf of young kids in the City of Lorain and the responsibility his gym has taught the at risk children in our society the PRCC awarded $1500 to Freddy’s.

For the many years of service and advocacy for all Latinos in Lorain County area and for being the first organization that donated seed money to the PRCC that help get the ball rolling CHIP was awarded $750.

The Puerto Rican Home was award $500 for its dedication and promotion of the Puerto Rican Heritage in Lorain County. The PR Home was also host to many of the events and meetings of the PRCC, where they always extended the warm hospitality and camaraderie as proud Puerto Ricans.

The Love Ministries Center on 28th Street, South Lorain  in the Certified Auto Repair Bldg was also awarded $500 for their food cupboard that is helping many families in Lorain, Latino and Non-Latinos. They perform a needed service to the resident of Lorain.

The Sacred Heart Youth Group was awarded $220 to help the group continue it's work with youth.
 
Dennis Flores, chair of PRCC Boxing Match, was also award a plaque for his hard labor before, during and after the PR CC Boxing Match.

The local dance troupe Raices Latinas was awarded $700 for their promotion of Puerto Rican Traditional dances.

Members of Executive Committee presented Antonio Barrios a plaque for the dedication and hard work on behalf of the PRCC.
