Martínez asks Finkbeiner for ethnic and gender diversity

Toledo City Council Candidate Adam Martínez delivered a letter on August 25, 2009, at 1:30 pm, to Mayor Carty Finkbeiner, asking him to reconsider his nominations for the appointments/re-appointments to the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority Board.

“I am dually disturbed by the Mayor’s lack of commitment to both ethnic and gender diversity on the Board of Directors. The Port’s leadership must be comprised of qualified individuals, who accurately represent the community they serve,” said Martínez.

Martínez prepared a statement asking Toledo City Council to send these nominations to committee and defer any appointments until the new mayor makes this appointment.
