Ritter Planetarium to commemorate achievements of early homo sapiens

Have you ever wondered why the pyramids in Egypt were constructed or how Stonehenge in England was built?

Learn by visiting The University of Toledo’s Ritter Planetarium Fridays at 8:30 p.m. from Aug. 7 through Aug. 29, 2009, to view Hansen Planetarium’s show, “The Dawn of Astronomy,” which celebrates the monumental achievements of early homo sapiens.

Learn how man measured the length of the year, developed the concept of the zodiac, and predicted the movement of the sun and the moon in the sky.

Admission for Friday’s program is $6 for adults; $5 for children 3 and older, senior citizens, and UT students, faculty and staff; and free for children 2 and younger.

For more information on the program or Ritter Planetarium, visit http://www.utoledo.edu/as/rpbo/programs/public.html.
