Susan G. Komen for the Cure launches new Web site
The Northwest Ohio Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure has launched a new Web site at www.komennwohio.org that enhances its ability to ensure that breast health services and information are within reach in its 24-county service area.

The new site, designed by RELEV8 (a division of Fruchtman Marketing of Toledo), includes a more user-friendly method of registering for the Race for the Cure, shares photos from past events, and provides an opportunity for people to interact with the affiliate through social media tools MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter.
“In many ways an organization’s Web site is its front door,” said Mary Westphal, executive director of the Northwest Ohio Affiliate. “We believe that our front door is now much more welcoming. It improves the ability for people to connect with us, and for us to connect with them.”
Because Susan G. Komen for the Cure is a non-profit organization, it’s important that the Web site also provides an easy way for people to make gifts online, sign up to volunteer, and provides information about how to apply for grant dollars.
According to Westphal, the Web site is also the place to go for breast cancer educational information and the latest information about local news and events. You can also sign up for “The Promise” newsletter online.
“If you know someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer or are just interested in more information, I encourage you to visit our new Web site,” said Westphal.
