Ohio’s Health Status to be discussed July 8
Ohio’s health status will be reported July 8, 2009, 1 to 4 p.m., at the St. Luke’s Hospital Auditorium 8, 5901 Monclova Road in Maumee. Representatives from the Health Policy Institute of Ohio will present findings from its recent Ohio Family Health Survey (OFHS), which gathered data from approximately 51,000 households in Ohio.
The OFHS is one of the largest and most comprehensive state-level health and insurance surveys conducted in the country. The project was managed by The Ohio State University’s Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center, and the Health Policy Institute of Ohio and the survey was conducted by Macro International.
The Ohio Departments of Insurance, Job and Family Services, Health, and Mental Health, the Cleveland State University, and the Ohio Board of Regents funded the project.
The forum, “What’s New in Ohio Health Policy?” will address:
• the most recent findings from the 2008 Ohio Family Health Survey and the implications for the Toledo area;
• updates on state level health policy developments from the State Coverage Initiative, the State Quality Initiative, the Coverage and Quality Council, and the state budget.
• regional and local activities and best practices in the areas of health care access, patient safety, health quality, health system improvement, or wellness that can be shared with the state level health policy initiatives.
