Michigan reports 175 confirmed swine flu cases

LANSING, May 20, 2009 (AP): Michigan officials are reporting 175 confirmed swine flu cases in the state.

That is 11 more than reported on a state Web site Monday.

The cases are spread among 29 of Michigan's 83 counties. The state updated its figures Wednesday afternoon.
 

Federal officials have determined the swine flu virus is similar to seasonal flu and not as severe as initially feared.
