Guisselle Mendoza is Shining Star

On May 5, 2009, the Toledo Association for the Education of Young Children (TAEYC) held its annual professional awards evening at Parkway Place in Maumee, Ohio, honoring 29 nominees for the Shining Star Award. 

The candidates for Shining Star were nominated by coworkers, parents, or other professionals to give special recognition to those who work in exemplary ways with young children, ages birth to 8.  Judges, which consisted of professionals with years of experience in the field of early childhood education, named 13 outstanding award winners.

Guisselle Mendoza from Toledo, an outreach specialist at Adelante, Inc., was determined to be a Shining Star and named Outstanding Early Childhood Advocate.  She was nominated by her coworker, Claudia Annoni.
