Educator Greg Browning at The City Club of Cleveland

Dr. Greg Browning will address an audience at The City Club of Cleveland on May 29, 2009, at noon, concerning: “School Choice-Where We’ve Been and Where We’re Going.”

1
Dr. Browning is the president of Capital Partners, a Columbus, Ohio-based consulting firm, specializing in public policy and management strategy.  Recently, Dr. Browning helped to organize a rally in Columbus in which 4,500 attendees made their voices heard about the proposed education spending cuts.

According to My School, My Choice, under Governor Ted Strickland’s proposed education plan, there will be a 19 percent cut in FY 2010 for all community schools (a $25 million cut) and a 65 percent cut for all e-schools.  While these are severe cuts to the schools, there is a minimal savings for the state and will likely result in a number of community school closures

Tickets are $18 for members and $30 for non-members. Lunch is included. They can be purchased by calling The City Club at 216.621.0082 or visiting the website at www.cityclub.org.
