The Education Committee is focusing on academic success through parental involvement, English as a Second Language (ESL), and college preparedness. Five volunteers have been trained in teaching ESL. The committee will be helping at the University of Toledo ’s Latino Youth Summit Parent Night, May 11, 2009, at the Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center.

The Health Committee is planning a Latino Health Fair August 15, 2009, at La Iglesia Cristo la Roca de Salvación, 2052 Front St., Toledo.
