Michigan reports 8 new probable cases of swine flu

LANSING, May 4, 2009 (AP): Michigan officials say the state has identified eight new probable cases of swine flu.

Michigan now has a total of 45 probable cases that will be tested by the federal government.

The eight new cases reported Monday include six in Kent County, one in Ottawa County and one in Wayne County.

To date, Michigan has had two confirmed cases of swine flu.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention does not expect to give test results for at least 72 hours after getting a specimen from the state.
