Metroparks has many ways for volunteers to make a difference by helping the environment in the Toledo area, any time of year, but especially around Earth Day.

Volunteers around the world – and in the Metroparks – will roll up their sleeves to improve their environment during Earth Day / Global Youth Service Day, Saturday, April 25, 2009, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Metroparks is urging that all “be part of this Earth Day observance by helping Metroparks remove invasive species, tend to gardens, and help with general spring cleaning. Youth volunteers will be invited to a celebration in the afternoon at the Toledo Zoo.”
