Band submissions wanted for Garage Rock V

The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is scheduled to host its fifth Garage Rock on the following Thursdays, June 18, 25 and July 2, 2009. This year’s three-week live music series will gather area bands, DJs and performers to crank it up in the underground parking garage at Main Library, 325 Michigan Street. All shows are free and open to all ages.

The Library is looking for interested bands and performers to submit a demo of their work via e-mail, the Garage Rock V My Space page, ground mail, or drop off at Main Library’s information desk. Submissions for performers are needed and will be accepted now through Friday, May 1. All works sent to the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library will not be returned.  Profanity or lewd lyrics will not be accepted.

All bands and groups selected to perform at the 2009 Garage Rock V will be contacted in May.  All concerts will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end around 9 p.m. Select bands/artists will play one 30-minute set each.  All genres of music are welcome to submit demos.

Demo samples can be sent via e-mail to [email protected]

or via ground mail to Garage Rock V, in c/o Jeff Smith, Main Library, 325 Michigan St., 43604.
