Notre Dame Academy one of the top finishers in foreign language competition

Notre Dame Academy was one of the outstanding competitors in the University of Toledo annual Foreign Language Day placing second overall in Spanish and third overall in French.

Around 200 students and a dozen teachers from area high schools participated in the competition testing their knowledge of language and culture in French, German, and Spanish.

Five Notre Dame Academy students placed first or second: Junior Jessica Kusina (43613) placed first in French II.  Freshman Alexandra Aughenbaugh (Sylvania) placed second in Spanish I.  Sophomore Erica Sánchez (43605) placed first in Spanish II. Sophomore Stephanie Angel (43606) placed first and Junior Elizabeth Lemón (Bowling Green) placed third in Spanish III.  Sophomore Deborah Amezquita (43612) placed first in Spanish IV.    

In addition to language programs in French and Spanish with Advanced Placement (AP) classes, Notre Dame Academy has a four-year Latin program with AP and honors classes and will be starting Chinese in autumn.
