LCCS remains among 22 accredited Ohio public child welfare agencies
As of February 2009, the Lucas County Children Services (LCCS) has been reaccredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA), an independent not-for-profit international accreditor of community-based behavioral health care and human service organizations. LCCS is among 22 county child protection agencies in Ohio and 50 nationwide to maintain this designation.
According to a statement from COA, the accreditation process identifies child welfare providers, “that have set high performance standards for themselves and have made a commitment to their constituents to deliver the highest quality services. COA is proud to recognize Lucas County Children Services as one of these outstanding providers.”
“Reaccreditation is a tremendous achievement for our agency,” says Dean Sparks, executive director. “It demonstrates that we have not only been able to maintain the high performance standards that we first achieved in 2005, but that we have continued to find ways to provide more and better services to the children and families of Lucas County. I am grateful for our caring staff - they do a tremendous job every
day.”
