Children’s Theatre Network presents OPUS Mime’s Stories Beyond Words

1
Ann Arbor: Michael Lee and OPUS Mime bring their unique blend of physical acting, storytelling and audience participation to the Performance Network Theatre stage in Stories Beyond Words on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at 11am. This all-ages show, part of the Children’s Theatre Network’s Saturday Series for Young Audiences, is followed by a free cookies and milk reception.

Stories Beyond Words is a theatrical circus of stories and silliness. Kids are invited to join in the show as they learn ways to communicate non-verbally with physical acting for a theatrical experience that is both fun and educational—OPUS Mime shows you what it would look like if Cirque du Soleil, Stomp, and Blue Man Group got together and had a party.

Michael Lee trained with mime Marcel Marceau and is not only gifted at the type of mime you expect from a traditional mime show, but takes it further into an imaginative realm where full stories are created just through physical acting.

Founded in 1994, OPUS Mime is a professional, non-profit theatre company dedicated to creating and performing original mime theatre, as well as educating people about the art of mime. Under the direction of Michael Lee, OPUS Mime has performed nationwide in unique works that illuminate elements of the human condition.

Tickets for the Children’s Theatre Network Shows can be ordered at the Performance Network Box Office at 734-663-0681, online at www.performancenetwork.org or by coming to Performance Network Theatre (120 East Huron St., Ann Arbor) Monday-Saturday 11am – 6pm or one hour before a performance. Tickets are $7 for children and $10 for adults.

Children’s Theatre Network is a touring program dedicated to awakening the creativity, intellect and compassion of our youth through the power and fun of live performance. Performance Network presents each of the productions one Saturday a month on its Main Stage. These shows are great entertainment for all ages and include a milk and cookie reception following each performance.
