Shakespearean comedy As You Like It presented by Lourdes’ Theater program
Lourdes’ Theater Vision program presents the light-hearted Shakespearean comedy As You Like It. Produced by the National Players, U.S.-America’s longest running classical theater touring company, this Shakespeare story satirizes traditional notions of power, pastoral life, and love.
Shakespeare’s comedy tells the tale of a Royal court in chaos, with a battle for control between two powerful Dukes, a rebellious daughter and two brothers in dispute over their inheritance. The Forest of Arden provides a refuge where these colorful characters can sort out their troubles, define their rightful place and find true love.
As You Like It at shows at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4 and Thursday, March 5, 2009. All Theater Vision performances are held in the Franciscan Theatre of Lourdes College. Tickets $10 per person. Call 419-824-3999.
