City Club in the City hosts Pastor Otis Moss III, Pastor of Trinity United Church, Chicago

Otis Moss III will address members of The City Club, community members, teachers, and students from around the Cleveland area at John Hay High School, at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, March 4, 2009

Pastor Moss will discuss his work at Trinity United Church and how he has successfully engaged the younger generation and redirected their energies into positive action. He recently took over as Pastor at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, the former church of Jeremiah Wright.  This event is free and open to the public.

Pastor Moss represents one of many faith-based institutions that successfully bring young people into its congregation in a meaningful way.  Pastor Moss is constantly working to engage the new generation in the church with his “Gospel Remix” style of preaching.  By incorporating social justice messages and acknowledging the gains of civil rights leaders of the 20th century, he inspires youth to combat the racial disparities that still exist today.

This event is FREE to the public.  Reservations are required and can be made by calling The City Club of Clevelabnd, at 216.621.0082 or visiting the website at:  www.cityclub.org

City Club in the City grew out of the City Club’s strategic initiative to diversify the organization’s programming.  After last year’s successful event with Geoffrey Canada, The City Club’s Diversity Committee has invited Otis Moss III, son of highly regarded Otis Moss Jr., former Pastor of Olivet Church in Cleveland.

Established in 1912 to encourage new ideas and a free exchange of thought, The City Club of Cleveland is the oldest continuous free speech forum in the country, renowned for its tradition of debate and discussion. The City Club’s mission is to inform, educate and inspire citizens by presenting significant ideas and providing opportunities for dialogue in a collegial setting.
