A Report from Antonio Barrios, Chair of the PRCC

The newly formed Puerto Rican Culture Committee just pulled off its first fundraiser at Days Inn on Feb. 6, 2009, in Lorain Ohio. The hall was packed with over a 100 guests and sympathizers that flowed from the wine to the cheese and keep the many conversations going well after closing time.

The PRCC is now moving to its next fundraiser, which is geared as an educational piece for the entire community. The PRCC is presenting a Movie Matinee, a documentary about the story of Puerto Rico and included is the story of the 65 Infantry's “Boriqueneers,” one the least known and highly decorated combat units.

Rose Roman, Tim Carrion, and Angel Arroyo prepare the various wines for the Wine-Tasting event.
