UT hosts Financial Aid Forums for students

The University of Toledo is hosting informational sessions to educate students on available financial aid and to answer questions regarding loan availability as the economy adds uncertainty to many issues regarding student financial assistance.

Sessions will be held: Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Rocket Hall Rocket Room on the Main Campus; and Thursday, Jan 29, from 10 to 11 p.m. in Student Union Room 2592 on the Main Campus.

“Clearly the state of the economy these last few months has changed some aspects of financial aid availability,” said Lisa Hasselschwert, director of Rocket Solution Central. “To help educate students about which changes will affect them and which will not, we’re hosting these forums to walk through questions students have and help ensure they’re able to maintain their financial aid packages.”
Hasselschwert said it is important to address potential financial difficulties as soon as possible.
“The more time we have, the more flexibility we have to work with students to find solutions. It is more difficult to help students at the last minute as federal and state financial aid deadlines may have passed and UT scholarship money will largely have been distributed.”
