‘Christmas Story’ fans celebrate favorite film

Nov. 29, 2008 (AP): Fans of the holiday movie “A Christmas Story” are celebrating the film's 25th anniversary with a convention and trips to the house where the movie was made.

The 1983 movie was set in Indiana but largely filmed in Cleveland, where the house used in the movie has been turned into a museum.

About 4,000 fans are attending a convention in Cleveland honoring the movie, which includes tours of the house in Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood.

Among those attending are the widow and children of Jeff Gillen, who played the scary and worn-out Santa Clause in the film.
