Friends of CASA elects board, officers

Ann Arbor, Nov. 20, 2008: Friends of CASA recently elected three new board members, bringing their total board to eleven members. Anne Simonsen, Trevor Brewster, and Angie Lausche were unanimously elected for three-year terms.

Nancy Kelley was named President of the Board, replacing Marianne Clauw, who will continue as Treasurer. Also elected to officer positions were Julie Dunbar, Vice President, and Trevor Brewster, Secretary.

“We’re really pleased with the talent and enthusiasm we’ve been able to attract to the board,” commented Nancy Kelley, President.  “CASA of Washtenaw County is poised to continue the phenomenal growth we’ve experienced over the past few years and the dedication of these new board members, along with our current board, will help assure we reach our goal of providing a CASA to every child who needs one.”

Friends of CASA is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, founded in 1999 to provide funding and outreach on behalf of neglected and abused children in collaboration with the Washtenaw County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Program.
