SQACC’s 12th Annual Dia de los Muertos celebration is a great success

Nov. 1, 2008: The 12th Annual Dia de los Muertos Fundraiser Celebration presented

by the Sofia Quintero Art & Cultural Center, Toledo, was a great success thanks to our

sponsors and our community supporters.

The entertainment was superb by Marta Gómez, the Mexican cuisine was excellent and

the Altars were extremely creative. This was an outstanding mixture that produced the best

Dia de los Muertos event so far.

The Sofia Quintero Art & Cultural Center Board wishes to thank our sponsors: Barbara

Winter, National City Bank, Adelante, Inc., The Andersons, LatinoFest, Mercy Health Partners, Ohlman Farm & Greenhouse Inc., Owens Corning, ProMedica Health, Huntington Bank, Lourdes College, Toledo Community Foundation, United Way, and Tate Funeral Home.

We also like to thank our partners: The YMCA of Greater Toledo, The Toledo Museum

of Art and Bowling Green State University. Special thanks for years of support, La Prensa and El Tiempo.

To those individuals who volunteered to help, we thank you for your contribution of

your time and energy. It is with no doubt that the Sofia Quintero Art & Cultural Center is

most great full to those that attended our event this year and in the past years. We could not have accomplished so much without such community support.

We hope to continue this proud tradition of presenting Dia de los Muertos for Latinos

and non-Latinos to see and enjoy. The Sofia Quintero Art & Cultural Center is always

seeking new partners, especially the youth to participate in this wonderful Mexican

celebration, to carry on this old heritage and custom with great honor and respect.

Thank you,
