TOLEDO, Oct. 23, 2008 (AP): Toledo is shutting down all city government offices for three days later this year in an effort to save money.

Mayor Carty Finkbeiner says a projected $10 million deficit is forcing the shutdown.

All non-emergency city departments will be closed on the day before Thanksgiving, the day after Christmas and on New Year's Eve.

The mayor said Thursday that the city will save about $1 million.
