• The Stevens Puppets appear at Library’s Maumee Branch: Maumee Branch Library, 501 River Rd., Maumee welcomes The Stevens Puppets as they bring this ever-popular classic tale, Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, to life with beautiful wooden marionettes, scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2008.
In this silly, non-scary version of Irving’s classic piece of literature, children of all ages will follow the lanky schoolmaster, Ichabod Crane, as he sings, dances, and falls in love with a giggly Katrina Van Tassel. The audience will watch breathlessly as Katrina’s father, Baltus, and the village goofball, Brom Bones, try to run Ichabod out of town by telling him the tale of The Headless Horseman.
The production is underscored by classical music and is adapted for marionettes by Martin Stevens and Dan Raynor. The Stevens Puppets celebrate 75 years of production.
Registration is required. For more details and to register, call 419.259.5360.
