Lourdes College events support National Breast Cancer Awareness

In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lourdes College is hosting the following events in support of breast cancer awareness and research.

Wednesday, October 15: Passionately Pink for the Cure® - Members of the Lourdes community are encouraged to wear pink during the College’s Passionately Pink for the Cure® event. During this single-day fundraiser, participants can post a ribbon in memory/recognition of someone on the Ribbon of Remembrance, create “pink” jewelry, make a donation to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, enter the “Pink Raffle” to win breast cancer awareness items and pick up the latest educational information on breast cancer. A community photo is planned for all wearing pink at 1:45 p.m. in McAlear Hall.

Sunday, October 19: Lourdes College’s Speaker Series - The Speaker Series returns with guest speakers Jill Eikenberry and Michael Tucker, best known for their roles on the four time Emmy-winning show LA Law. The couple will present “Destined to Live,” a production stressing the importance of breast cancer education, early detection, research and treatment. “Destined to Live” also touches on Eikenberry’s personal struggle with the disease.

The Speaker Series is co-sponsored by Flower Hospital and will be held in the Franciscan Theater of Lourdes College at 7 p.m. Admission is FREE and open to the public with a valid ticket. To pick up tickets, visit the Franciscan Center box office or call 419-824-3999.
