Northwest Ohio Writers’ Forum welcomes Michigan author Kim Delmar Cory
Michigan children’s author Kim Delmar Cory will speak about writing for children at the Forum’s October 18 meeting at the Sylvania Library, 6749 Monroe Street near Silica Drive in Sylvania. Kim writes historical fiction for children in grades 4 through 6.
Her titles include Lilly’s Way, Charlie Boy, and Home to Mackinac. She has also taught children’s literature at the college level for nearly 20 years.
In November, it’s time for feedback on any poetry, prose, or plays that writers have in progress. The Forum’s popular “Works in Progress” meeting on November 15 at the Sanger Library at 3030 W. Central Avenue in Toledo will provide time for any interested writers to share portions of projects and, if they choose, to receive private feedback from other writers in attendance.
The Forum is also sponsoring the Northwest Ohio Writers’ Conference, which takes place Saturday, October 25, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel, 2340 Reynolds Road in Toledo. The theme for this year’s conference is “Get Published in 2009” and the Forum will have on hand regional and national publishers, writers, agents, and motivational speakers to provide aspiring authors with the tools they need to help make their publishing dreams a reality. More information about the conference can be found at www.nwowc.com. The advanced registration deadline for the conference is October 11.
All meetings of the Northwest Ohio Writers’ Forum are open to the public. Additional information about meetings and membership can be found at www.nwowf.com.
