4th Annual Cattle Baron’s Ball, Oct. 18

One minute of cancer research costs more than $250. An hour of cancer research costs more than $15,000. Keep doing the math and that’s a lot of money for the American Cancer Society to raise in support of their mission of eliminating cancer as a major health problem.

The organization is taking a uniquely country approach to its fight this year by rounding up ranch hands, cowpokes, slowpokes and everyone else it can to reduce the cancer burden here in Northwest Ohio.

The gala event—known as the Cattle Baron’s Ball will be held on Saturday, October 18th, 2008, at the Lucas County Recreation Center, from 6:00-10:00 p.m. This country-western themed gala will help to reduce the burden of cancer by raising funds for research, education, advocacy and patient service programs.

The headline entertainers will be Rodney Parker and the Liberty Beach Band, a local country western band that has been drawing sold-out crowds and standing ovations throughout the region. Parker, a native of Delta, OH, is an up and coming star in the crowded Nashville music scene.

The evening will feature music, entertainment, casino gambling, and great food. Call 1.888.227.6446 ext. 5211 for details.
